The cdstorager.exe file can load and store CD information such as file name, create time, file size, modify time and also file metadata like JPEG EXIF information, mp3 id3 tags and video chapters into the user's CD catalog database.
Also a main feature of the cdstorager.exe program is the CD Cover Generator wherein users have the ability to automatically print covers of CDs and DVDs from the catalog database. The cdstorager.exe file also has support for Mixed Audio CDs and CD-Text, loading of image files as cover for the discs, internet connection by proxy server and support for 4 kinds of disc types; audio CD, data CD, video CD and DVD-Video.
Though the cdstorager.exe is not considered a background process, it has a feature called the Active Storage Monitor wherein users can configure the cdstorager.exe process to work in the background. When the cdstorager.exe process works in the background, it automatically notifies the user whenever it detects a new disc, it plays a distinct sound and alters the system tray icon so that the user can be notified.
The program cdstorager.exe also has support for the zip folder function which means that every archive file that is compressed may be seen as a folder in the user's CD catalog database.
