What is the .EFT File Extension?
.EFT File Extension Description:
The file extension EFT is used in banking and accounting archives. Peresoft created EFTXpress, an added online banking solution that aids clients in the retrieving and exporting of bank statements through electronic mode. With over 15 participating countries and 35 banks worldwide, the client has the option to receive bank statements anywhere, with discretion. It is part of Cashbook, an online banking program that maintains bank accounts and cash flow. Bank transactions saved in the .eft file extension format are compiled with data from an existing bank format, like Bureau Focus, CAMS 551, CAMS 558, and FNB.
Files with the .eft file extension are transmitted online to the client's bank through an EFT batch, with the corresponding common protocol for bank formats. On the client side, the graphical user interface of Cashbook and EFTXpress is a simple program created with a top-down interface, complete with lists of loaded files with .eft file extensions. The client sees all transactions created for editing, and can create new batches for payments or fund transfers.
Files with the .eft file extension are also encrypted with the appropriate bank format, seed number, and an EFT exports Debit Line. This information found in the .eft file extension is necessary for the bank to verify that the transaction is valid, and that both the account that the client is using and the Cashbook program are registered. This is done to avoid fraudulent errors and, therefore, adds security to the online banking transactions.
The files with the .eft extension are also accessible via the program's re-generate feature. The Cashbook and EFTXpress program automatically update and re-generate any modifications on the Account Payment Information, so that the participating bank is notified without the user having to submit the whole EFT batch all over again.Author: Peresoft, Makemusic
