.FEB File Extension Description:
The WordPerfect program was one of the earliest word processors that could run on several operating systems. The word processor gained popularity in the late 80's. The most popular versions were those compatible with the Disk Operating System and the Windows platform. The program can also be used with computers that run on Mac OS, Apple lle, Linux, VMS, Data General. AmigaOS, Atari ST, NeXTSTEP, OS/2, System/370, Apple llgs and several popular versions of Unix.
The Corel Corporation produces modern versions of the program. Developed by Bruce Bastian and Dr. Alan Ashton, the original software was designed for Data General microcomputers. The primary elements of the program are its streaming code architecture, a reveal codes function and its own macro and scripting language. The streaming code structure of documents created by the program is considered early versions of the HTML formatting used in WebPages. Documents created by the program are basically plain text files, which are interspersed with tags for formatting purposes. The reveal codes ability of the program will allow users to see these tags and edit the document from that level. WordPerfect also has the PerfectScript language and macro, which can be used to automate tasks in the program.
The program uses files with the FEB file extension to store the Figure Editor Button Bar. The latest releases of the program feature a graphic user interface made up of a menu bar and button bars. Button bars are similar to toolbars that can be seen in other programs such as Microsoft Word.
Button bars contain icons, which correspond to specific functions that are available in the program. The appearance and functions available in the Figure Editor Button Bar are stored with the file extension .feb. Files with the FEB file extension contain descriptions to what the button bar will look like if the user activates it. Users have the choice of which button bars will appear on the interface. If the user decides to show the figure editor button bar WordPerfect will reference the files with the FEB file extension.
Users can choose which buttons will appear on the button bar. The choices made are pulled from the file with the FEB file extension. The file with the file extension .feb stores links to the specific processes which are needed to edit figures and images in the program. Graphic images needed to represent icons in the button bar are also linked using the file with the FEB file extension.Author: Corel Corporation.
