What is the .FRL File Extension?
.FRL File Extension Description:
The FormFlow line of programs use the FRL file extension for its electronic forms. Delrina originally developed the program. The Symantec Corporation, who sold its electronic forms line to JetForms, later bought Delrina. JetForms continued support for FormFlow software until Adobe Systems Incorporated purchased it.
The FormFlow line of programs was started with the PerForm and PerForm Pro applications for Disk Operating System computers. Later versions of the electronic forms software were given the straightforward name FormFlow. These succeeding lines of software were designed for use on the Microsoft Windows operating system.
The FormFlow program uses the .frl file extension for electronic forms, which can be loaded to the Internet or the Intranet. Electronic forms created by the programs contain blank fields. They are similar to any document or HTML page that is made up of groups of nestled tables. The difference with electronic forms is that the data entered in them is gathered separately from the electronic forms themselves. The information input in the forms are collated and sent to the user by a separate means. These electronic forms with the FRL file extension can be used to collect information from visitors of a website, or employees of a company.
Most programs in the FormFlow line use the FRL file extension in this capacity. Even the PerForm programs used to create electronic forms on a computer running on DOS save electronic forms with the FRL file extension. Files with the file extension .frl are made up of tables and lines of text. These tables are used as fields to answer different kinds of questions. The fields are linked to separate files, which store the data input by those answering the electronic form.
Because of the numerous changes in terms of parent companies and company names, there is several software that can also open forms with the FRL file extension. JetForm was renamed Accelio before it was bought by Adobe Systems Incorporated. Files with the FRL file extension can be opened and edited with the re-released Accelio FormFlow. This program was just renamed to include the new company name of JetForms. The electronic forms program of Adobe Systems Incorporated called LiveCycle Forms can also open forms with the FRL file extension.Author: Delrina (,FormFlow),
