What is the .LSP File Extension?

.LSP File Extension Description:

The file extension LSP is a source code file by Lisp, a computer programming language that features a comprehensive and definitive syntax structure for application development. It is one of the pioneers in computer program assembly, and has been used as early as the late 1950's, with Fortran as its predecessor. Files in the .lsp form are high level programming language assembly codes that have, since, branched out into two common forms: Common Lisp and Scheme. The former has a new file extension format .cl, while the latter has .t

Files saved in the .lsp format support a number of data types. One such type is Scalar, which includes integers, ratios, complex numbers, symbols, and floating-point numbers. Furthermore, the symbols written and compiled in files with the LSP format are compatible and are implemented as Unicode characters.

Another type of data saved in LSP file formats is data structures, including sequence forms for vectors, strings, arrays, hash tables, and packages. This type of data supports multidimensional arrays to allow matrices to be mixed and form vector integers.

The function data type found in .lsp file extensions also allow the already existing, as well as the created data, to access information to support its own validity, in terms of values returned. This allows the programmer not only to create an argument in the program for relation type decision operations, but also to build data structures to help relate each data in the defined function. Macros are created in this manner, thereby allowing the automation of functions.

Another feature of the LFP file extension is the ability to store a Common Lisp pathname, which facilitates the most basic file naming convention. This makes the LSP format easily accessible in different operating systems.
