What is the .MLB File Extension?

.MLB File Extension Description:

Several applications use the MLB file extension. One is FoxPro for Macintosh, a database management system and programming language that use the MLB file extension for its library files. FoxPro for Macintosh supports relationships among tables, but lacks transactional processing so it is not a relational database management system.

FoxPro for Macintosh has the optimizing engine called "Rushmore", utilizes indexes to speed up data updating and retrieval. This technology examines each statement that is data related, and looks for filter expressions. In the event that one is used, it looks for an index match with similar expressions.

The application MyLittleBase database library, as well for its data files, also uses the MLB file extension. This program is a standalone and simple to use database library, and is available as an open source freeware. Its environment supports C++ Builder version 3.0 and 5.0, Delphi 1.0, 2.0, 4.0 and 6.0, and Microsoft Windows 3.1 and later versions.

Files in the .mlb file extension are database components that cover almost all of your developing needs. It can query records such as LIKE operator, and supports ISAM formats. Files in the .mlb file extension can also contain Delphi components that are distributed with an SQL engine, along with complete source codes.

The software program called PeachText also uses files in the .mlb file extension for its files that manage the application. Mike Griffin, Bill Radding, and Les Printer as a CP/M program released PeachText in 1979. It has features such as a full screen for text editing, user defined variables, and other advanced features. Peachtree does not support the PeachText program anymore, when it was acquired in 2002 by the Sage Group.
