The Structured Fax file Format (SFF) is a raster and image translation procedure file format extension principally representing fax documents. It holds information regarding the page configuration along with the compressed information line of fax documents. Supported by PMView 2003 and IrfanView, this format is used by (CAPI) COMMON-ISDN-API. LEADTOOLS also employs the multi-page SFF files format. This is a file structure intended for the CAPI interface for saving incoming fax messages.
The CAPI is a self-governing operating system for accessing ISDN cards. It has been used effectively for years in MS Windows. The CAPI interface anticipates and distributes faxes in the 'Structural Fax File' (SFF) file extension set-up. SFF files can be translated via the SffToBmp converter tool, written in C++, to convert SFF documents to BMP, JPEG or several TIFF format.
