IDEs are designed primarily for programmers to maximize their productivity, by offering components with a pre defined user interface and minimizing the switching of modes.
Turbo C, the application that uses the TB2 file extension, was first released to the market in the year 1987. It became famous primarily because of the use of the IDE technology coupled with its fast compilation speed, small size, complete manuals and low cost. An updated version of Turbo C was released on May 1990 and was named as Turbo C++. Today, Borland just reintroduced the Turbo moniker to the market.
Notable features of Turbo C, which uses the TB2 file extension as its font file, includes the capability to compile over 16,000 lines per minute, availability of a hyper text online help, support to inline assembly, support to all six different memory models, and a total of over 450 library functions including the use of a specified font file, which is denoted with the TB2 file extension.
The features of the built in Turbo assembler includes the capability to assemble a maximum of 48,000 lines per minute, compatibility with the MASM, full support for 386 and ability to assemble multiple files.
