What is the .TUT File Extension?
.TUT File Extension Description:
The TUT file extension is a generic format used for tutorials by various computer programs. One of its implementing computer applications is the Virtual Family educational software developed to get young people, aged between 12 and 16, become interested in computer programming. Students can alter the Java code within the tutorials. These modifications are stored in files with the TUT file extension. The students can then get their code every time they start a tutorial session and subsequently save it under the TUT format before ending a session.
The TUT file extension is also employed by the in-game tutorial modification program of Chessmaster. The upper bar of the display shows the tutorial's title, which is also the name of the file using the TUT extension. The Save button permits the user to keep the tutorial files under the TUT format. A Chessmaster tutorial has several pages. All instructions in a page are performed in a sequential manner. It is recommended for the tutorial maker to examine the tutorials already found in the path: chessmaster/ data/ tutorials.
A Chessmaster tutorial may contain sound files stored in the same folder where the files of the TUT format are kept. These audio files may be in the WAV or MP3 format. The creation of a tutorial file is made easy through the application of tags including the Slide tag for moving a chess piece, the Delay tag for providing a delay of 400 ms, the Highlight tag for emphasizing certain squares, and the Remove tag for eliminating a chess piece in a particular square.
The TUT file extension is also employed by VDAZONE.org's TNOS scripting language known as TScript. The tutorial files for using TScript are saved as files with the TUT extension.Author: Supporting Women in Information Technology
