What is the .TXF File Extension?
.TXF File Extension Description:
The TXF file extension specifies the standard text-based format of a file that contains tax data records. It is defined in ASCII format where each record is separated by a marker line of one character "^" containing the critical information required by tax applications to process these records. Each field in the file with the .txf file extension is a separate line with a single character at the start of the line, which describes the field in the record that the line is referring to.
Each tax item in the file with the .txf file extension contains a summary record for each line on the tax form. Following the summary record can be one or many detailed records that give supporting information to the summary record. Tax programs, however, can ignore these detailed records, but they can be very useful in providing additional information to the file with the .txf file extension.
