What is the .UI File Extension?
.UI File Extension Description:
The UI file extension is a developer file used to save the user interface configuration of a program. There are three operating systems that use the UI file extension: Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Mac OS.
A program's user interface is the cumulative means by which a person interacts with a program or a system. This is where the input/output relation takes place.
When applied to an operating system, the UI file extension deals with the textual, graphical, and auditory information presented by a program. It also arranges the control sequences (i.e. keystrokes with the computer keyboard, movements and selections of the computer mouse, and touch screen control) used to manipulate a program.
There are two most basic and common user interfaces that the file extension UI stores: the Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Web-based user interface. The former acknowledges input from computer devices and translating these into an articulated graphical output flashed in the computer screen. The latter Web-based user interface deals with the input-output activities generated by Web pages that are generally transmitted through the Internet or a Web browser program. These two types, in turn, revolve around two subset GUI designs, the object-oriented user interface, and the application-oriented interface.
With these two basic user interfaces, 18 were developed and these interfaces deal with the different features of one particular program or line of programs. For example, the command line interface is most commonly used in desktop computing while the multi-screen interface allows multidisplays for a more flexible interaction, commonly used in gaming software.
The most common software that opens a UI file extension is the Qt Designer, developed by Trolltech. This software is a multi-platform C++ GUI framework that also includes data structures and a networking library in its package. If this software is not available in the operating system, any text editor program is used to open the UI file extension.Author: Trolltech
