The ULD file extensions are used to define uploaded files from the ProComm Software. This program turns your computer into a terminal to communicate with another PC. It has many programs for file transfer, to download and upload files in the .uld file extension. To upload means from a computer into a remoter host, and download means from the remote host into your computer.

This communication software for Microsoft Windows has 34 terminal emulations and file transfer protocols that includes Zmodem. It includes seamless integration of Fax into your system, and has TCP/IP network support and a serial connection that enables access to the Internet, though limited. It does not support off-line email or applications for web browsers. The ProComm program is configurable, and it has convenient features, and it is able adapt to any computer communications situation.

Files in the .uld file extension are electronic data that are transferred between computers. These are data that are sent from the local system into a remote computer system. The difference between downloading and uploading is that uploading means to send, and downloading means to receive.

Files in the .uld file extension are transferred by the use of file transfer protocols through a network. These are sent over any network that is TCP/IP based, to be able to manipulate files in another PC in the network, even if the remote system is using a different operating system.

The application ProComm, which uses the ULD file extension, also has the capability for remote hosting. When the host mode is activated, it acts as a mini Bulletin Board System. Other computers can log in via the telephone and access files in the host.
