What is the .XTB File Extension?
.XTB File Extension Description:
The .xtb file extension is referred to as an External Translation Table, which is used by a word processor application known as LocoScript that runs in an MS-DOS environment. LocoScript software covers a comprehensive list of special characters for the European language. The LocoScript software boots from a disc because it does not have its own operating system.
When the program is loaded, it starts off with a file manager where in the user must choose a file to be opened, or the user must enter a filename that refers to a new document. The created files did not have any file extensions at first. But when newer platforms came out, the LocoScript software later adopted the MS-DOS file naming convention, and Microsoft Windows along with OS/2 followed suit.
Files with the .xtb file extension are used as references when certain documents are needed to be converted into different formats. The documents or files created by any LocoScript application are referred to as LocoFiles. A LocoFile can be converted to be used in the following programs:
•and FoxPro that runs in Windows 2.5, ASCII and ASCII (CSV).
When a file is to be converted, the user will refer to the file with the .xtb file extension in order to see the compatible file formats for the LocoFile.
Aside from being able to translate it to different programming languages, the XTB file extension is also capable of translating LocoFiles to run in different platforms. The different platforms where the LocoScript file can be used are MS Windows Write, AmiPro, and various MS Windows platform versions such as 1.x, 2.0, 6, 7, 95, 97, 2000, 2003, and XP. There are several LocoScript Converters used to convert LocoSript files among PCs/Macs and PCWs. Conversions are done because nowadays there are limited companies using the LocoScript software.Author: Locomotive Software
